Proven Experience in
Eckert AgriMarketing's FarmWebDesign was formed by Jane Eckert specifically to develop websites for farms and ranches in the U.S. and Canada.
Owner & CEO
Danny Mauk began working for Farm Web Design as a graphic artist and web designer in 2010, and in 2015, he purchased the company from former agrimarketing consultant Jane Eckert. Since 2004, Farm Web Design has created more than 160 websites for farms throughout the United States and Canada. Recent recognition includes being named “Best Website Design” in both 2015 and 2016 by the North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association (NAFDMA).
Danny holds his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Technical Theatre from Lindenwood University, and has worked with several farms and businesses in the haunt industry, including fall entertainment at Six Flags St. Louis. His leadership and talent has helped the company constantly evolve while maintaining a fresh eye for design, strong technical knowledge of mobile devices and content management systems, and innovative marketing techniques.
Senior Web Designer
As co-founder of the website division for Eckert AgriMarketing, Bill Mauk has written and designed more than 120 agritourism websites, including pumpkin patches, pick-your-own gardens and orchards, Christmas tree farms, CSA, farm markets, and ag-related associations.
Bill has more than 50 years of marketing and communication experience, with a history in broadcast, film production, and executive management in both corporate and nonprofit America. When the World Wide Web was still in it’s infancy, Bill designed his first website in 1994.
In addition to being an active writer, video producer, public relations consultant and communications manager, he maintains the broader perspective of strategic marketing and planned public relations, continuing to assist FarmWebDesign as a consultant and writer.
Founding President & CEO, retired
FarmWebDesign was developed by Jane Eckert and Bill Mauk as a division of Eckert AgriMarketing in 2004, recognizing that the Internet offered an entirely new and unique format for the marketing of agritourism and direct farm marketing.
A 6th generation farmer and former Vice President of Marketing for Eckert Farms, Jane is founder of Eckert AgriMarketing, and CEO/founder of Rural Bounty, an online directory of farms in North America. Jane has been featured in USA Today, Time, and This Week in Agribusiness, as well as numerous publications.
Jane Eckert is listed in the NAFDMA Hall of Fame, and she has been recognized throughout the industry as a critical driving force in promoting the agritourism industry. With more than 40 years of professional experience, Jane has been one of North America's leading farm marketing consultants. Her company, Eckert AgriMarketing continues to offer agritours to introduce farmers to agritourism operations in other parts of the world, and she serves as a consultant and advisor to FarmWebDesign.
Working with Our Team
Danny, Jane and Bill will work with you personally to create a custom-built website that uniquely reflects your farm and your family . We always start by taking the time to get to know you, learning about your family and your farm, and we want to know about your guests and why they choose your farm.
We listen to what you want in a website. You should also know that as your professional online marketing consultants, if we think there is a more effective way to get customers to your farm, we are going to share those alternatives with you for your consideration.
We have two kinds of competitors:
- High-end web design companies that expect you to pay top dollar, and then expect you to teach them about your business (most of their clients sell widgets and vacuums).
- Companies that offer you a low price template and web hosting for a monthly fee—but you have to do all of the writing and design of your website.
It's your choice: Proven, marketing professionals with direct farm experience that will interview you and then write, program and design a website that perfectly reflects your business…or choose one of those other guys.
